The Power of Women

Gloria Steinem is a woman I really admire.  Take a moment to listen to her thoughts on women and our rights.  When most of us hear the word abortion, we immediately shut off.  For me it's not about being pro abortion, it's about having the right to make my own decisions about my health.

Patience

Almost 2 weeks ago I started doing The South Beach Diet.  I've lost a lot of weight on this program before, and I have a goal to reach before I turn 50 in November. - Yikes!

I was certain that I would lose my first 10 lbs. this morning.  I got on the scale and I was very disappointed.  What a bummer!  I've been so good for 2 weeks!

I have this morning ritual I do.  I sip coffee, watch either the news or Foodnetwork, and read out of the book Courage to Change.  This book was given to us at The Retreat during the family program.  It's a One Day at a Time book from Al-Anon.  It never fails that the daily thought is just what I need to hear.  It is my version of scriptures.

So here's the thought today:
No problem lasts forever, no matter how permanently fixed in the center of our lives it may seem, whatever we experience in this ever-changing life is sure to pass.  Even pain.

Difficult situations often bring out qualities in us that otherwise might not have risen to the surface, such as courage, faith and our need to love one another.  All of our experiences can help us grow.... BUT WE NEED PATIENCE.

God grant me patience - FAST! lol

Spring Is In The Air

I took a little break from blogging.  During my break I discovered so many great blogs that I couldn't decide if I wanted to keep blogging?  Love, love, love The Pioneer Woman's blog.  I could spend every evening just looking at her site!  Obviously, I didn't take her photography advice.  All the pics were taken from my IPhone!

Until I decide what this blog will evolve into, here is a quick update on things that make me happy.
Over 4 months sobriety - That is equal to 4 months without  cancer.
Huge...huge!

Harold's 2nd heart ablation working well!  Jessa's love and support of her Dad!

R & R in the Caribbean - Pure heaven!

Kevin the Owl at the Safe Kids Fair.  Tori makes me smile -  Love her!

My adorable sister Camille was by my side during Harold's heart surgery.

Mr. President.  Getting the state of Utah to be involved in politics.  My boy genius!
I was humbled at the blog The Cancer Chronicles.  I put a link on my blog.  Keep Michelle in your prayers.

Love ya-
